- Morgan Wallen flipped a piano over while performing onstage in Denver on May 29.
- He got frustrated after experiencing technical difficulties with the instrument.
- Morgan later continued the rest of his song a cappella.
Aside from delivering chart-topping country albums and singles, Morgan Wallen has quite the reputation when it comes to having a bit of a temper (more on that later). Case in point: The country singer threw a piano over while onstage at his Denver concert at the city’s Empower Field at Mile High on May 29.
While performing his single, “Sand in My Boots,” Morgan got upset and flipped over his piano—yes, really—after getting frustrated that he couldn’t hear the instrument properly. He then proceeded to do the rest of the song a cappella. Behold the moment for yourself:
Opinions were pretty mixed in the comments section of the fan-captured video. “Imagine he's giving us this beautiful Acapella solo and all he's thinking about is pushing that pos piano over, 😂” one fan wrote.
“This man doesn’t need any background music when he is unplugged. He is the ultimate a cappella singer,” another Instagram user added, while another one didn’t see what the fuss was about—”It’s his piano and he has the money to fix it or buy a new one. How is this any different than the guys that smash guitars?”
This isn’t the first incident of Morgan throwing things, either. Back in 2024, he got arrested by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on three felony charges after throwing chairs in a Nashville bar.
“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” he wrote at the time. “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”
